eMAR Updates - October 2026
These releases introduce new features and address bugs
eMAR Portal Update (v5.8.3) – 13 October 2026.
This is a maintenance release containing bug fixes only. No action is required — it is applied automatically with no downtime.
Bug Fixes and Reliability Improvements
- Care planning sync – Fixed an issue where PRN administrations recorded in Camascope did not always appear in the care planning timeline in Nourish and PCS mCare.
eMAR Portal Update (v5.8.4) – 22 October 2026.
This is the first of three updates to staff accounts, with further changes on 29 October and 3 November. All updates are applied automatically with no downtime. Find out more about all three updates.
Improvements
- Simpler staff setup – Managers only choose the person's role at their home when adding staff. Only Account Admins can assign Account Admin access, and the Account Role field now defaults to "None".
eMAR Portal Update (v2.0.0) – 26 October 2026.
This release includes changes to the Nourish integration. It is applied automatically with no downtime.
Improvements
- Nourish integration Improvement – With this update, residents are matched using their Sex at birth in Nourish instead of their Gender identity, so there's no need to change a resident's gender identity in Nourish to get their records to match. Find out more.
eMAR Portal Update (v5.8.5) – 29 October 2026.
This update removes unnecessary Account Admin access. It is applied automatically with no downtime.
Improvements
- Account Admin cleanup – Account Admin is removed from staff who have a home role but are not a Manager at any home. Home roles are unchanged. Managers with Account Admin, and Account Admins with no home role, are unaffected.
eMAR Portal Update (v5.8.6) – 3 November 2026.
This release updates staff account permissions. It is applied automatically with no downtime. Medication rounds, the app and resident records are unaffected.
Improvements
- Updated staff account permissions – Home Managers can access Staff Users, while Account Admins can access Group Account Users and add or edit people. Those with both roles can access both pages; other staff cannot access either. Temporary passwords go only to the person's saved email address or mobile number. Account Admins should review remaining access and remove it where no longer needed.
VIVALDI Social Care Study
Camascope has partnered with the VIVALDI Social Care Study, which aims to leverage existing data to better understand and reduce the impact of infections and outbreaks in care homes.
Participation requires no input from care providers. Once agreed, Camascope will securely share only NHS numbers with the VIVALDI Study, allowing researchers to gain an accurate understanding of the number of residents in care homes.
