eMAR Updates - June 2026

These releases introduce new features and address bugs

Release Notes

eMAR Portal Update (v5.8.0) – 23rd June (Planned Scope)

This release introduces a new daily clash email report alongside business as usual improvements.

  • Daily clash email report: New scheduled email report is now available summarising medication clashes.
  • PRN workflow improvements: PRN follow-up actions are now recorded against a dedicated sibling task rather than the parent medication administration task.
  • New check-in screen – custom schedules: Fixes several issues affecting medications on custom patterns. The calendar now shows the correct dosage for each day of a custom schedule (including the final days of the pattern), and medications with a custom pattern and varying daily dosages can now be checked in.
  • New check-in screen – PRN protocols: Fixes an issue where PRN protocol values could be cleared when checking in medication dispensed by the pharmacy.
  • New check-in screen – low stock changes: Fixes an issue where changes to a medication's low-stock level were ignored unless the underlying drug ID also changed.
  • New check-in screen – reliability: Resolves a case where a check-in could partially save when an error occurred, leading to a mismatch between what the screen showed and what was saved.
  • New check-in screen – stop date display: Fixes incorrect stop dates appearing under medications and in stop warnings (for example, today's date being shown for a medication scheduled to stop on a future date).
  • Mandatory route of administration: Adds mandatory validation for route of administration in the medication details and new check-in screens.
  • MAR chart for custom 90-day patterns: Fixes an issue where the MAR chart failed to display administered medication on the correct day, and on future dates, for medications using a custom 90-day repeat pattern.
  • Portal and App alignment: Fixes an issue where scheduled medication rounds visible on the Portal were not reflecting on the eMAR App.
  • Allergies hover: Fixes a case where allergies showed "None" when hovering over the allergies tab on the schedule page, even when allergies were correctly synced from Nourish.
  • Proxy linking: Resolves an issue where a service user could have multiple active proxy links to patients.
  • Bulk audit witness prompt: Fixes an issue where the Bulk Audit flow did not prompt for a witness login, even when the "Witness for Bulk Audit" setting was enabled.
  • Portal UI tweaks: A range of small UI improvements across the Portal.

eMAR App Update (v2.7.0) – 7th July 2026 (Planned Scope)

This release focuses on business as usual improvements. Early Acccess release is planned for 30th June.

  • Stopped PRN Warning: PRN medications now appear as stopped in the app immediately after a stop is configured in the portal (rather than remaining available until the end of the day). By default, users receive a warning when attempting to administer a stopped PRN medication, although this can be configured to require an authorisation.
  • Default round timings: Restores default round timings for the Camascope 2.0 App to the standard 4-hour split.
  • Offline PRN sync: Resolves a rare edge-case issue where administering a PRN medication from two devices while offline could result in one administration being lost during sync. Both records are now correctly reconciled when the devices come back online.
  • "Last taken" accuracy: Fixes cases where the "Last taken" label could disappear or display an incorrect time, ensuring staff have reliable information before re-administering a medication.
  • QR scanner reliability: Fixes scanner failures when rotating the device between portrait and landscape, and resolves a separate issue where the scanner could fail to start.
  • MAR screen time display: Corrects the due time shown on the MAR screen after moving to the next round when the tablet is in portrait mode.
  • Re-login screen: Fixes a black screen that could appear when reopening the app after the 30-minute inactivity logout.
  • App responsiveness: Improves responsiveness on devices with large databases by moving heavy database queries off the main thread, reducing freezes and "App Not Responding" prompts.
  • Other: Additional stability fixes across medication administration workflows.
