eMAR Updates - July 2026
These releases introduce new features and address bugs
eMAR App Update (v2.7.0) – 13 July 2026.
This release includes one new improvement for stopped PRN medications, alongside several bug fixes to improve the accuracy, reliability and performance of the app.
New Feature
- Clearer stopped PRN medications: When a PRN medication is stopped, a “Stopped” label will now appear immediately in the app, making its current status clearer to care staff.
Bug Fixes and Reliability Improvements
- More accurate “Last taken” information: Fixes an issue where the “Last taken” label could disappear or show an incorrect time, helping staff make safe and informed decisions before administering medication.
- More reliable offline PRN records: Fixes an issue that could affect PRN administration records when multiple devices were being used offline. Records will now sync correctly when devices reconnect.
- More reliable PRN follow-up records: Fixes an issue that could cause some PRN follow-up information to be linked incorrectly. Follow-up records will now appear against the correct medication task.
- Improved QR code scanning: Fixes issues that could prevent the QR scanner from opening or working correctly, including after rotating a device between portrait and landscape.
- Correct medication due times: Fixes an issue where an incorrect due time could sometimes be shown after moving to the next medication round while using a tablet in portrait mode.
- Reliable access after inactivity: Fixes an issue where a black screen could appear when reopening the app after being automatically logged out due to inactivity.
- Improved app performance: Improves responsiveness for homes with larger amounts of data, reducing the likelihood of the app freezing or displaying an “App Not Responding” message.
- Other improvements: Includes additional bug fixes and stability improvements across medication administration workflows.

VIVALDI Social Care Study
Camascope has partnered with the VIVALDI Social Care Study, which aims to leverage existing data to better understand and reduce the impact of infections and outbreaks in care homes.
Participation requires no input from care providers. Once agreed, Camascope will securely share only NHS numbers with the VIVALDI Study, allowing researchers to gain an accurate understanding of the number of residents in care homes.
