eMAR Updates - August 2026

These releases introduce new features and address bugs

Release Notes

eMAR App Update (v2.7.2) – 18 August 2026.

This is a hotfix release to rectify an issue that was introduced in the 2.7.0 update. There are no new features. Please note: it will roll out to devices automatically over roughly two weeks from 18 August.

Bug Fixes and Reliability Improvements

  • We have identified a common underlying cause behind a small number of rare issues introduced in the 2.7.0 update, and this has now been fixed. The issues affected QR code scanning, approvals and witness sign-off during medication rounds — for example, QR code scanning could fail, or approvals could be requested more than once during a “Take All” flow.

eMAR Portal Update (v5.8.2) – 19 August 2026.

This is a maintenance release containing bug fixes only. No action is required — it is applied automatically with no downtime.

Bug Fixes and Reliability Improvements

  • More reliable medication check-in: Fixes an issue on the new check-in screen that could cause a check-in to fail, and strengthens the checks behind the screen to make check-in more robust.
  • “Administration Managed” now applies correctly: Fixes a rare issue where changing the “Administration Managed” setting on a medication was not applied to newly created schedules, which could result in that schedule not appearing on the eMAR app from its start date.

VIVALDI Social Care Study

Camascope has partnered with the VIVALDI Social Care Study, which aims to leverage existing data to better understand and reduce the impact of infections and outbreaks in care homes.

Participation requires no input from care providers. Once agreed, Camascope will securely share only NHS numbers with the VIVALDI Study, allowing researchers to gain an accurate understanding of the number of residents in care homes.
