eMAR Updates - September 2025
These releases introduce new features and address bugs
Camascope 2.0 App Update (v.2.3.1) - 5th September
(Not released to Play Store) This update addresses stability and usability bugs, including:
- Service User Selection Fix: Resolved issue where the app displayed “No service user selected” incorrectly.
- Back Button Improvement: Pressing the device back button on the main status screen no longer logs the user out.
- Medication List Icon Update: The top bar icon now correctly updates to “skipped” when an absence is added for the day.
- Login Reliability: Improved reliability and error handling.
- Blank Screen Fix: Resolved an issue with blank / grey screen showing with no resident data.
Camascope 2.0 App Update (v.2.3.2) - 18th September
This update addresses usability bugs, including
- Back Button Bug Fix: Resolved an issue where the app could freeze after pressing the back button following administration for a service user without PRN.
- Smoother Round Navigation: Round tabs now respond smoothly, fixing the “jumpy” behaviour sometimes experienced previously.
- Medication Display Update: Polished up the display to remove a rare inconsistency.
Camascope 2.0 App Update (v.2.3.3) - 29th September
This update addresses an issue affecting a small number of customers:
- Network Sync Improvements: Improved handling of unsynced medication actions when operating in areas of low network coverage, including giving clearer guidance prompting users to move to an area with stronger WiFi to resolve issues.
- ‘Reduce stock by’ field when skipping meds: Instead of defaulting to 1, users must enter the desired reduction in stock (or specifiy 0 if none).
- Vitals recordings bug fix: Fixes bug where vitals recordings were sometimes not being prompted in the app after being configured in the portal.
eMAR Portal Update (v5.3.3) - 30th September
This update introdudes a number of improvements and bug fixes across the portal, including:
- Scheduled Medication Minimum Interval Protocol: New configuration option in the Unit Configuration to allow users to select whether manager authorisation is required before proceeding.
- Improved QR Code Printing: Increased margins for clearer single QR code prints.
- New Check-In Screen: Bug fixes and usability enhancements.
- Data API Versioning: Introduced versioning to allow customers to build on stable, non-changing API versions.
- Nourish Enhanced Care Planning Integration Improvement: Feature updated to only be visible when the Classic App is disabled. Clearer labels added, along with confirmation messaging, a Camascope 2.0-only icon, and consistent behaviour across app, portal, and reports.
- Bodymap Marker Alignment: Fixed an issue where markers were misplaced.
- Service User Photo on MAR Chart: Increased photo size to resolve display issues where it appeared too small.
VIVALDI Social Care Study
Camascope has partnered with the VIVALDI Social Care Study, which aims to leverage existing data to better understand and reduce the impact of infections and outbreaks in care homes.
Participation requires no input from care providers. Once agreed, Camascope will securely share only NHS numbers with the VIVALDI Study, allowing researchers to gain an accurate understanding of the number of residents in care homes.
