Release Notes

eMAR App Update (v2.5.1) – 2nd March 2026

Early access release went live week commencing 23rd February (v.2.5.0 initally, then upgraded to v.2.5.1). This release focuses on medication safety, synchronisation reliability and general stability improvements.

  • Sync status visibility: An on-screen banner appears if the device has not successfully synced within 5 minutes, helping staff identify stale data and reconnect.
  • Date confirmation: A confirmation prompt appears when recording administrations on a past or future date to reduce accidental mis-dating.
  • Stock awareness: Users are alerted when medication stock goes below zero and prompted to reconcile stock in the portal.
  • PRN protocol notes: Free-text PRN instructions entered in the portal are now visible in the app during administration.
  • Visual & sync reliability: Fixes rare visual inconsistencies and improves background synchronisation reliability.
  • Skip reason requirement: A reason must now be entered before a skipped medication can be completed.
  • Session reliability: Improves automatic logout behaviour after inactivity.
  • Other: Additional stability and usability improvements across administration workflows.

eMAR App Update (v2.5.2) – 5th March 2026

This release contains a fix to address a rare issue affecting offline mode.

  • Fix: medication administration status Resolved a rare scenario where a medication’s administration status could update unexpectedly (typically while the device was operating offline).

eMAR App Update (v2.5.4) – 26th March 2026

This release focuses on performance, data consistency, and stability improvements. This is in early access release from 26th March 2026.

  • Fix: incomplete data loading Resolved issues where full lists of medicines or service users were not always visible.
  • Fix: app stability Addressed a crash related to the scanner being used after disposal.
  • Improvement: data freshness Improved cache handling at login and ensured service user images are always fetched from the backend.

eMAR Portal Update (v5.7.0) – 31st March 2026 (Planned Scope)

This release improves PRN documentation, ordering flexibility, clinical visibility and system reliability across portal and app workflows. There is no downtime planned.

  • Expanded medication clash detection: Medication clash warnings are enhanced by expanding the set of clinically “risky” active ingredients checked across medications. Previously limited to paracetamol and codeine, this now includes a broader set of high-risk ingredients.
  • PRN report completeness: Reason for administration and Notes fields are now included in PRN reports, improving auditability and clinical context.
  • PRN protocol notes usability: The Notes field in PRN protocols is now larger and scrollable, making it easier to enter and review detailed instructions.
  • Administration managed safeguard: A warning message now appears when unticking “Administration Managed” to reduce accidental configuration changes.
  • Body map clinical detail (Sanctuary): Dosage instructions and medication notes are now visible within the body map chart to support safer administration.
  • Proxy ordering flexibility: Care home users can now place orders for medications marked as stopped, GP repeat request or related, improving ordering workflows.
  • Stock report accuracy: Corrects ordering of undo/redo medication actions in stock reports.
  • Course and segment validation: Prevents invalid end dates exceeding maximum allowed task durations.
  • Check-in screen accuracy: Resolves dispensation status mismatches on the new check-in screen.
  • App data consistency: Fixes rare issues where previous medication action details could be lost after portal configuration changes.
  • Nourish sync display: Prevents eMAR images showing for residents not synced with Nourish.
  • Other: Additional bug fixes and stability improvements across portal and app.

VIVALDI Social Care Study

Camascope has partnered with the VIVALDI Social Care Study, which aims to leverage existing data to better understand and reduce the impact of infections and outbreaks in care homes.

Participation requires no input from care providers. Once agreed, Camascope will securely share only NHS numbers with the VIVALDI Study, allowing researchers to gain an accurate understanding of the number of residents in care homes.
